Women’s Lacrosse Holds Clinic For Northport Youth Team

February 2, 2016 By Team Up 4 Community

NORTHPORT, N.Y. (Feb. 2, 2016) – This past weekend, the LIU Post women’s lacrosse team took a break from its pre-season training to put on a clinic for the Northport Girls’ Youth Lacrosse Team.

The Pioneer coaches and student-athletes instructed the girls on fundamental skills and concepts.

“We developed a relationship with Northport Youth Lacrosse last year and are very happy that we were able to attend their first day of practice for their spring season,” said Head Coach Meghan McNamara. “We had a wonderful time working with the fifth graders. They have so much energy and athleticism.”

“We had so much fun going to Northport and playing with the girls,” LIU Post junior attacker Alexis Newman (Medford Lakes, N.J.) stated. “Being involved in the community and having the opportunity to get to know the players is something we enjoy every time we get a chance to.”
